As we hit mid-stride in this beautiful summer weather, everyone around us seems to be toting that enviable summer glow. And, while I love the idea of sporting the perfect golden glow, I know that hours of worshipping the sun gods will do nothing for the protection and preservation of my skin or the skin of our beautiful clients. 

So what was a girl to do? 

I knew that the best bet for offering this golden glow would be to carry a self-tanner at the studio, and while I had used these products before, I wanted to be sure that if we carried one it did three things that so many self-tanners on the market do not — offer a bronze goddess glow, were (nearly) scent free, and applied smoothly and evenly every time.  Hours of research and testing out products later and I landed on Sjolie, a family-owned company that creates organic, and naturally derived products in the USA.

Reason #1: It offers a beautiful, gradual glow. 

My favorite product that is carried by Sjolie is their tanning mousse due to its gradual glowing magic. The application requires that it sit on your skin for 8 hours (which is why I always apply mine right before bed), and once it has done its work, you will experience golden perfection. Despite my obsession with the color orange, that is one hue that I did not want to see on my skin, and thank goodness it was nowhere to be found! This product gives me a color that is complementary to my skin tone, providing me the look of sun-kissed skin without the damage. 

I also love that you can apply once and get a beautiful color or apply a few days in a row to achieve your desired shade. 

Reason #2: It is lightly scented. 

Now this one is a biggie for me. If you have ever experienced the smell of a spray tan or self-tanner, you know what I am talking about. What I love about this product is that you get all the benefits of an amazing spray or self-tan without the overpowering smell. All products in this line have a very light scent, making the experience delightful from beginning to end. 

Reason #3: The foam applies like a dream 

The other thing that I love about this product is its seamless application. The mousse glides on like a seamless and when used with the mit (which I highly recommend to avoid stained fingers), your application will be flawless each and every time. You won’t have to worry about streaks, spots, or uneven patches with this product. Can I get a heck yes?!
